The ALIS-XR Project

This collaborative research project aims to implement and evaluate active learning with extended reality (XR) technologies to improve learning outcomes and narrow achievement gaps for underrepresented minority (URM) students in introductory STEM courses. This three-year research project will develop, implement, and evaluate the Active Learning in Introductory STEM Courses with XR (ALIS-XR) framework as an exemplary model to improve undergraduate STEM learning for all students but especially URM students and narrow achievement gaps between URM students and their non-URM peers at four-year and two-year institutions.
